We’re proud to announce that Bybit has officially secured the Virtual Asset Platform Operator License from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), becoming the first crypto exchange ever to achieve this milestone.
This license represents more than regulatory approval; it’s a historic step in the UAE’s journey toward becoming a global digital asset hub, and a testament to our commitment to building a secure, transparent, and fully compliant ecosystem for digital finance.
Building trust through compliance
The SCA’s recognition affirms Bybit’s dedication to the highest standards of security, transparency, and governance. It follows the In-Principle Approval (IPA) received in February 2025, supported by the Blockchain Centre, Abu Dhabi, and showcases the regulator’s trust in our compliance-first approach.
From MiCAR authorization in Europe, to resuming full operations in India, and now the UAE’s first full license, 2025 marks a defining year in our global regulatory roadmap where innovation meets integrity.
What this means for our users
With the SCA’s full Virtual Asset Platform Operator License, we'll now offer regulated trading, brokerage, custody and fiat conversion services to both retail and institutional clients across the UAE.
But that’s just the beginning. We’re set to:
- Expand our UAE operations with a larger regional center in Abu Dhabi, growing to over 500 employees across Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
- Accelerate local hiring across compliance, operations and customer support.
- Launch education and Web3 innovation programs in collaboration with local partners.
